Instructions from Ashwini Jichkar, Chairman of the Special Committee on Construction and Projects
Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Construction and Project Special Committee Chairperson Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar has directed that mobile towers have been erected in many places in the city without authorization, and that the Municipal Corporation should prepare a comprehensive policy in this regard. The mobile companies that have erected unauthorized and authorized mobile towers should submit all the documents to the Municipal Corporation within the next 8 days .
The meeting of the Municipal Corporation’s Construction and Special Projects Committee was held today (Thu. 16) under the chairmanship of Chairperson Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar in the Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Standing Committee Hall. On this occasion, Deputy Chairperson Mr. Pradeep Pohane , Corporator Mr. Chandrakant Khangar , Corporator Mrs. Kumudini Guddhe , Corporator Ms. Durgeshwari Kosekar , Corporator Mr. Mahendra Dhanvijay , Corporator Md. Mujtaba Mustafa Ansari , Corporator Mrs. Vidya Kanhere along with Assistant Director of the Urban Planning Department Mr. Rituraj Jadhav , Assistant Commissioner Mr. Vijay Thul , Assistant Commissioner Mr. Dhananjay Jadhav , Assistant Commissioner Mr. Narendra Bavankar , Assistant Commissioner Mr. Rajkumar Meshram , Assistant Commissioner Mr. Vikas Raibole , Market Superintendent Mr. Mahendra Bobde were present.
Currently, mobile companies have set up 862 mobile towers in the city. Of these, 431 mobile towers are unauthorized and notices are being sent by the zone office to the mobile companies that have set up mobile towers illegally, the administration said. Deputy Chairman Mr. Pradeep Pohane expressed the view that action needs to be taken against mobile companies as per the rules of the Municipal Corporation since mobile companies are setting up mobile towers illegally. Mobile towers are often set up at unauthorized places. To know the current status of mobile towers in the city, all mobile companies were instructed to submit the information regarding the permission they have regarding mobile towers to the Municipal Corporation office within 8 days . Since the Municipal Corporation is suffering financial losses, a comprehensive policy should be formulated in this regard, Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar also directed on this occasion.
Chairperson Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar sought information regarding the number of shops in the city market and the annual income generated from them . She expressed the view that the shops of the Municipal Corporation are being transferred to others and this should provide more financial benefits to the Municipality and that there is a need to increase the income of the market department.
Speaker Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar directed that the information on the development work being done in the city under DPDC should be submitted constituency-wise . If there is a need for repair of the roads constructed under DPDC, then that work should be done immediately and care should be taken to ensure that water is drained from waterlogged areas immediately , Mrs. Ashwini Jichkar also directed.
