Installation of the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) on all vehicles registered before 1 April 2019, is mandatory. Those who fail to install the HSRP before June 30 will face action. The last date earlier announced was 31st December 2025. The last date has been extended up to June 30, 2026, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said.
HSRP is necessary for misuse of number plants on vehicles for illegal activities, and also early detection of illegal activities.
The vehicle owners must complete the procedure of seeking appointments and installation of the HSRP before June 30. Under a special drover from July 1. Those who have not completed the process may face action, and a compounding fees up to Rs 1,000.
Sarnaik has appealed to the vehicle owners to cooperate with the government and the local authorities.
