Following the completion of the digital self-enumeration phase, the second phase of the 16th National Census will begin across the city from Saturday. Conducted under the theme ‘Census for Public Welfare’, this stage will involve physical house-listing and collection of detailed family-related information.
To facilitate smooth data collection, the city has been divided into 3,992 house-listing blocks. Around 4,500 enumerators and 700 supervisors have been deployed for the exercise, which will continue from May 16 to June 14. Officials will carry out door-to-door visits using the ‘House Listing Operation Application App’ (HLO) to digitally record data. The process will begin with preparing layout maps of assigned localities and allotting house numbers. Each enumerator has been tasked with collecting information from nearly 800 residents.
Citizens who completed self-enumeration between May 1 and May 15 will be required to share their 11-digit SE ID with enumerators during the verification process. Authorities have urged residents to provide correct details about their household and family status to ensure accurate data collection.
Ahead of the launch, several administrative review meetings were conducted to address possible challenges and brief supervisors about field operations. One such meeting for the Dharampeth Zone was recently held at Valmiki Higher Primary School.
