Workers of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) staged a cycle protest march in Nagpur against the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices. The agitation was led by former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, who targeted the BJP-led governments over rising inflation and increasing fuel costs.
As part of the symbolic protest, party workers rode bicycles towards the Collector Office while carrying NCP (SP) flags and raising slogans against the fuel price hike. Protesters claimed that the continuous increase in petrol and diesel prices has put an additional financial burden on common citizens, farmers, transport operators and small traders.
Addressing the gathering, Anil Deshmukh said the government has failed to provide relief to the public despite rising inflation and economic pressure on households. He demanded an immediate rollback in fuel prices and accused the Centre of ignoring the struggles of ordinary citizens.
The protest march witnessed participation from several party office bearers, youth leaders and supporters, who said the agitation was aimed at drawing attention to the growing hardships faced by the public due to escalating fuel prices.
