A major leakage has been reported in the 800 mm Om Nagar Feeder (Pench 4) pipeline near Nara ghat, prompting the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) to impose an emergency water shutdown for urgent repair work.Due to the repairs, both morning and evening water supply will be disrupted on Thursday in several areas across the city.
The affected areas include:
Nara Command Area: Om Nagar, Arya Nagar, Nara Basti, Preeti Society, Ekta Colony, Adarsh Colony and Noori Colony.
Nari Command Area: Shende Nagar, Awale Nagar, Kapil Nagar, Kamgar Nagar, Nalanda Nagar, Nari Village and Utkarsh Society.Jaripatka Command Area: Bhim Chowk, HUDCO Colony, Martin Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Sugat Nagar, Kabir Nagar and nearby Nara ghat areas.
Nara NIT Command Area: Panjra area, Vishwabharati Society, Shabina Society, Eros Society and Umang College campus.Officials said repair work is being carried out on priority to restore normal water supply as soon as possible. Residents have been advised to store water in advance and use it carefully during the shutdown.
