The grand opening ceremony of Khasdar (Sansad) Krida Mahotsav 2026, envisioned and inspired by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, was held in Nagpur on Saturday. The sports festival was inaugurated by renowned actor Suniel Shetty in the presence of thousands of sportspersons, participants, and sports enthusiasts.
Addressing the gathering, Suniel Shetty stressed the importance of sports in shaping the future of young people. He said that when children remain engaged in sports, they stay focused and away from negative influences. Reflecting on his own journey, he credited sports as the foundation of the positive achievements in his life and called for greater efforts to promote sports among the youth.
The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav 2026 is being organized from May 31 to June 7, 2026, featuring a variety of sporting events and competitions. The initiative aims to encourage fitness, nurture sporting talent, and create a vibrant sports culture among young people across the region.
Speaking on the significance of the event, organizers said that sports are not just about competition but also about discipline, teamwork, dedication, and healthy living.
