Retired Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kapoor has been appointed as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director (VC & MD) of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) on a contractual basis for a period of two years.
Kapoor formally took charge of the post from outgoing VC & MD Swati Pandey on Saturday. The appointment comes in recognition of his vast administrative experience and long tenure in the Maharashtra bureaucracy.
He retired from government service in April 2026 after serving in several key positions within the state administration.
MADC, the nodal agency behind major infrastructure and aviation projects in Maharashtra, including the MIHAN project in Nagpur, is expected to benefit from Kapoor’s extensive governance and policy implementation expertise.
Officials welcomed Kapoor’s appointment and expressed confidence that his leadership will help accelerate the company’s ongoing development initiatives and future infrastructure projects across the state.
