In a relief for parents, the School Education Department has extended the deadline for admissions under the RTE 25% Admission Process 2026-27 for students selected in Waitlist Round 2 (List No. 3). Officials, however, have clarified that this will be the final extension.
Students selected in the latest allotment round were originally required to complete admissions between June 4 and June 12. The department has now extended the admission window till June 19, giving parents an additional week to complete the formalities.
Parents of children allotted seats in List No. 3 have been directed to complete the admission process between June 13 and June 19. They must carry original copies of all documents uploaded during the application process for verification.
The required documents include the allotment letter, which can be downloaded from the parent’s login on the RTE portal or obtained from the Verification Committee, and a printed copy of the undertaking/declaration form (Hami Patra) available on the portal.
Education officials said that while SMS alerts will be sent to selected candidates, parents should not depend solely on these messages. They have been advised to regularly check the official RTE portal and verify their child’s selection status through the “Application Status” section using the application number.
Authorities have also clarified that parents need not log in to obtain an admit card. Instead, all relevant admission details can be accessed through the “Application Status” tab. After document verification, parents must ensure that the admission is confirmed online within the prescribed period and collect the online confirmation receipt from the Verification Committee.
Meanwhile, candidates on the waiting list have been advised to regularly monitor their status on the portal. SMS notifications to waitlisted applicants will be issued only after the admission process for students selected in List No. 3 is completed. Further allotments will be made according to the waiting list sequence.
Officials warned that failure to confirm admission by June 19 may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, which could then be offered to a candidate on the waiting list.
