In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, even minor issues are creating rifts in relationships. However, timely positive communication and a willingness to take the initiative can clear misunderstandings and strengthen mutual trust, said relationship and life coach Sandeep Agrawal. He also expressed concern over the growing tendency of people to seek new relationships instead of nurturing existing ones, describing it as a major cause of mental instability and family discord.
He was addressing a special workshop titled ‘One Life, One Partner’, organised by the Nagpur Branch of the All India Women’s Conference and Purva Vidarbha Mahila Parishad at the Late Anasuyabai Kale Smriti Sadan, New Ramdaspeth, on Sunday. The programme was attended by Purva Vidarbha Mahila Parishad President Mrs Nutan Kolaskar, Vice-President Mrs Anasuya Kale Chhabrani, Secretary Mrs Sangeeta Bhave, Joint Secretaries Prajakta Kulkarni and Hemal Chitnavis. Mrs Nutan Kolaskar welcomed Sandeep Agrawal and Mrs Pooja Agrawal.
Highlighting the importance of trust, communication, commitment and Indian family values, Agrawal spoke at length on the changing dynamics of relationships in the backdrop of modern lifestyles. He said that men and women are naturally different in their physical, emotional and psychological makeup, and therefore should respect each other’s strengths instead of comparing or competing with one another. Referring to Indian culture, he said women have traditionally been accorded the status of Shakti, and the family system remains the greatest strength of society.
Agrawal also voiced concern over the growing mindset of viewing relationships merely as a source of temporary attraction or entertainment in the name of modernity.
He also interacted with the participants and answered their queries during the workshop. The programme was compered by Sampada Kulkarni Pandit. A large number of young girls, women and office-bearers of the Mahila Parishad attended the workshop.
