The Orange City Icon Awards 2026, organised by Mahima Multipurpose Social Organisation, Nagpur, was held with great enthusiasm at Amrut Bhavan, Ramdaspeth. The ceremony honoured non-governmental organisations, social workers and eminent personalities from various fields for their outstanding contributions towards women empowerment, social development and public welfare. The awardees were felicitated with mementoes and certificates of appreciation.
The programme was attended by Corporator Ritika Pasaram, Corporator Yogesh Pachpore, social worker Dattabhau Bargaje of Infant India, Mukta Bhardwaj of Vishva Yuvak Kendra, Dayanand Kubal, Jayant Pathak, social worker Arvind Gedam and Sheetal Patil, President of Mahima Multipurpose Social Organisation.
Congratulating the award recipients, Dattabhau Bargaje said that voluntary organisations should work collectively to ensure a life of dignity for HIV-positive orphaned children and destitute women who have been neglected by society. Mukta Bhardwaj of Vishva Yuvak Kendra also congratulated the awardees and highlighted the significant role of youth development and women’s empowerment in nation-building.
The programme was introduced and compered by Karuna Bangar-Garge, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Sheetal Patil. The organisers acknowledged the valuable support of Babita Dhurve, President of Adivasi Niradhar Mahila Multipurpose Organisation; Arvind Gedam, President of Anushka Education Academy and Cultural Organisation; Nanda Kolhatkar, Secretary of Gulmohar Organisation; Baby Gaurikar, President of Poonam Navnirman Organisation; and Pratap Kashikar for the successful conduct of the event.
