Orange City Water (OCW) and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have announced an 18-hour shutdown of the Killa Mahal Feeder on June 22 to facilitate a critical pipeline interconnection under the AMRUT project.
According to officials, the shutdown will remain in effect from 11:00 am on June 22 until 5:00 am on June 23. The maintenance work involves connecting a 600 mm x 450 mm interconnection (I/C) of the AMRUT feeder with the existing Boriyapura ESR branch feeder at Seva Sadan Square.
As a result, water supply will be disrupted in areas served by the Boriyapura/Khadan ESR Consumer Area, including Red Stones, Chuna Masjid, Sharda Mata Mandir, Kosarkar Mohalla, Nand Baji Dob, Chapre Mohalla, Kharbikar Mohalla, Deoghar Mohalla, Bajirao Galli, Golibar Chowk, Hedau Mohalla and Kuradkar Mohalla.
The shutdown will also affect the Killa Mahal Consumer Area, covering Bapu Mahajan Galli, Gajanan Maharaj Gate, Zenda Chowk, Matruseva Sangh Sump, Killa Gate Sump, Gayatri Complex, Kalyaneshwar Mandir, Upadhye Galli, Tulsibagh Road, Bhosala Colony, Alikhamb, Bhuteshwar Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Nandaji Nagar, Nawabpura, Sangh Building area, Kothi Road, Dasara Road, Rahatekar Wadi and Gayatri Convent.
NMC and OCW have appealed to residents in the affected localities to store sufficient water in advance and extend their cooperation during the shutdown period.
