The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of faculty members from core engineering disciplines. The initiative is designed to equip educators with expertise in cutting-edge technologies, enabling them to deliver industry-relevant and high-quality technical education.
Applications for the programme are open to full-time faculty members of AICTE-approved institutions until July 5, 2026. The certification courses cover a wide range of emerging fields, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Data Science, Data Analytics, Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Drone Technology, Robotics, Intelligent Transport Systems and 3D Printing.
The six-month hybrid programme carries 18 academic credits and will be offered through premier institutions of national importance, including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). For the July–December 2026 session, AICTE is offering 41 programmes across computational and management domains.
Launching the initiative, Yogesh Singh, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education, said that emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Quantum Computing are rapidly transforming industries and will play a vital role in shaping the future workforce.
Shyama Rath, Member Secretary of AICTE, said the programme offers faculty members an opportunity to acquire new skills and engage in collaborative learning with distinguished academicians and peers from across the country.
