The Nagpur district administration will hold special camps across all 10 zones of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to facilitate the regularisation of residential encroachments on Government and Nazul land that existed before January 1, 2011.
The initiative aims to assist eligible beneficiaries by accepting applications, verifying documents and guiding applicants through the regularisation process. Residents have been asked to attend the camps on the scheduled dates with duly filled applications and all necessary documents.
The camps will be conducted from July 10 to August 1, starting at Laxmi Nagar Zone-1 and ending at Mangalwari Zone-10. They will remain open from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm at the respective zonal offices.
Applicants must submit documentary evidence proving that the encroachment existed before January 1, 2011. Valid documents include electoral roll entries for local body elections, electricity bills, property tax receipts, encroachment survey records, slum notification documents and other Government-issued residential proof. Ration cards will not be accepted as proof. Additionally, applicants must furnish at least one Government-issued residential document issued within the past year.
According to officials, the camps will serve as a single-window facility for document scrutiny and application submission. Cases found eligible after verification will be processed for regularisation and the grant of occupancy rights. Applicants have been advised to bring both original documents and self-attested photocopies for verification.
