The Late Shri Ramchandraji Mehadia Memorial Snicket Tournament 2026 commenced on a grand note at Gondwana Club on Wednesday, bringing together 34 teams representing leading clubs from across Nagpur for one of the city’s most prestigious cue sports events.
The tournament was inaugurated by Gondwana Club President Jatin Kale in the presence of Treasurer Parth Majumdar, Managing Committee member Rahul Agrawal, tournament sponsor Shreyas Mehadia, tournament directors Mihir Shah and Jaidev Menon, along with club members and sports enthusiasts.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries extended their best wishes to all participants and stressed the importance of sportsmanship, discipline and fair competition. They also appreciated the organisers and volunteers for successfully hosting the annual championship.
The tournament began with a series of one-sided contests. Jamashp Bapuna and Akshay Khetrapal registered a dominant 246-28 win over Ratnesh Puniyani and Pankaj Dawal, while Jatin Kale and Shreyas Mehadia defeated Ved Khemuka and Ameya Buty 113-45 to progress to the next round.
