Heavy rainfall triggered severe waterlogging in the Narendra Nagar area on Tuesday, disrupting normal life and creating a dangerous situation for residents. Roads were submerged, making it difficult for people to move safely through the locality amid the incessant downpour. Reports of widespread flooding have emerged from several parts of the city as heavy rains continue.
In a dramatic rescue operation, schoolchildren stranded due to the flood-like conditions were safely evacuated with the help of a JCB machine. Authorities and local residents coordinated efforts to move the children to safer locations, ensuring their safety as water levels continued to rise. The incident once again highlighted the vulnerability of low-lying areas like Narendra Nagar during intense monsoon spells.
