Severe waterlogging was reported at Somalwar School, Nikalas Branch, on Rana Pratap Nagar Road in Khamla, following heavy rainfall and the incomplete road construction outside the campus. The road work, which was expected to be completed during the summer vacation, remained unfinished due to administrative delays, causing rainwater, mud, and debris from the road to flow directly into the school premises.
The school ground was inundated with knee-deep water, leaving students stranded and creating serious safety and hygiene concerns. Parents and local residents have expressed anger over the negligence, stating that the inconvenience could have been avoided had the project been completed before the reopening of schools.
Citizens have demanded immediate intervention by the administration to drain the water, clear the accumulated mud and garbage, and ensure the safe evacuation of students. They have also urged authorities to expedite the pending road work to prevent such incidents from recurring during the monsoon.
