The police busted a high-profile flesh trade racket being run at city’s posh hotel Radisson Blu on Wardha Road. A team of Pratap Nagar police under the supervision of DCP (Crime) Sambhaji Kadam raided the hotel and arrested the kingpin Maya Pujarao besides getting released one of her victims.
Maya (32), is an original resident of RB/3, MP Housing Society, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh and at present resides at Kadambari Plaza, 404, Chandan Nagar, Medical Square, Nagpur.
The police got a tip-off that Maya, who allegedly runs a high-profile international sex racket and supplies women to the people, was operating in the city. DCP Kadam then laid a trap. According to trap, the police contacted Maya posing as a customer and put forward a demand for a sex worker. The deal was according to police, Maya agreed to provide a girl from Kolkata for Rs 10,000 of which Rs 5000 she demanded as advance and the remaining at the hotel room.
Accordingly, the dummy customer reached Hotel Radisson, handed her over the remaining amount to Maya, who asked him to go to Room No 202, where a sex worker was already waiting for him.
A little while later, the dummy customer signaled the police, who along with the squad of social security cell raided the room detained the sex worker and arrested Maya.
Both of them were taken to Pratap Nagar police station where Maya was booked under relevant sections.
The raid was carried out by police inspector Vikram Gaud, police inspector, social security cell Meena Jagtap, staff of the cell Sanjeevani Thorat, Anupama Jagtap, Ajay Jadhav, Damodar Rajurkar, constables Shitalaprasad Mishra, Vijay Gaikwad, Surekha Sandekar, Chhaya Raut, Sadhna Chavan, Prahlad Dole, Anil Dube, photographer Warhadpande, social workers Premlata Patil and Vaishali Jamhulkar under the guidance of ACP Sanjeev Kamble and DCP Kadam.
