Sports Carnival –Aaghaz 2019 concludes

The grand finale of the three  days  Sports Carnival –Aaghaz 2019 of Somalwar School, Maa Umiya Branch  organized by Somalwar Academy  came to an end with Shri   M.L.Somalwar , President, Somalwar Academy lowering  down the school flag  and  extinguishing  the flame off  the cauldron to mark the end of the sports meet . Prominently present were Chief Guest- Dhanashree Lekurwale National and Asian Rhythmic Yoga Champion and Abhishek Thaware, India’s only Teeth Archer and honorable members of the Somalwar Academy.

Dhanashree Lekurwale, Abhishek Thaware and Vyanketesh Somalwar while speaking on the occasion encouraged all the participants to inculcate sports in their everyday life to develop self confidence and winning spirit. To quote Vyankatesh Somalwar the winners were the Sikander of the day and the players not standing on the podium were the Bazigars of tomorrow.

The 3 day extravaganza witnessed  the extraordinary  performance of the  sports participants of as many as 25 schools being displayed  with adrenalines rushing, competitive spirit reaching greater heights to win the coveted prizes in different categories for seven different   games in individual  and team  category.

 The results are as follows

  • Basketball – Under13 (Boys) Winner-Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar, 1st Runner-up – K. John School, 2nd Runner Up—Somalwar School , Maa Umiya branch.
  • Baketball- Under 13- girls—Winner Centre Point School Wardhaman nagar, 1st Runner Up- The Achievers School, 2nd Runner up-Somalwar School , Maa Umiya Branch
  • Volley Ball – Under 16 Boys—Winner Delhi Public School , Kamptee Road, 1st Runner up Somalwar School, Maa Umiya Branch, 2nd Runner up- Somalwar School, Nikalas Branch.
  • Volley Ball Under 16 Girls- Winner K. John School, 1st Runner up Saibaba School Tekadi, 2nd Runner Up Tejaswini School
  • Volley Ball under 13 Boys – Winner Saibaba School, Tekadi,  1st Runner up Somalwar School, Maa Umiya Branch.
  • Skating Team Championship – Somalwar School, Maa Umiya branch.
  • Gymnastic – Team Championship – Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar.
  • Taekwondo- Team championship – Suyash Convent
  • Yoga– Team Championship – Somalwar School, Maa Umiya Branch.
  • Kabbadi – Under 16 Boys Winner Tejaswini Mandir, 1st  Runner up CIPS Kamptee Branch, 2nd Runner Up Somalwar School Maa Umiya Branch
  • Kabaddi Under 16 Girls Winner – Somalwar School Nikalas Branch 1st Runner Up – Gayatri Convent, 2nd Runner Up – Somalwar School Maa Umiya Branch
  • The overall Championship Trophy was won by Somalwar School Maa Umiya Branch for being on the top of the Winners trophy and medals tally.
