IWWA holds lecture on leakage reduction

Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) Nagpur Centre organized ‘Annual Date Memorial Lecture’ recently.

Dr Rajesh Gupta, Head of Civil Engineering Department at VNIT Nagpur and Past President IWWA delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Leakage Reduction in Water Distribution System through Pressure Management”.

Dr Gupta described in detail the technique of ‘Pressure Management’ and presented a case study of Ramnagar Zone of Nagpur where water leakages were reduced substantially. On this occasion, IWWA felicitated MD Date and DD Date, sons of Late DV Date.  Dr V A Mhaisalkar, Chairman, Dr Pawan Labhasetwar, Vice Chairman, O N Mukherjee, Secretary shared the dais.

Dr Pawan Labhasetwar welcomed the audience. Dr K C Tayade presented life sketch of Late D V Date. Dr V A Mhaisalkar also felicitated Dr Rajesh Gupta. Dr A G Bhole, former Prof & Head Civil Engineering Deptt donated Rs 2 Lakh towards Annual Endowment Lecture in the area of 66 Water Treatment at Nagpur Centre. Dr S S Kulkarni, Dr Hemant Landge, Chandrakant Gajbhiye, Dr Virendra Dehadrai, Dr P K Jain, Dr M S Kadu, Dr Sandeep Shukla, Minal Dehadrai, Dr Hastak and other members along with the students were present on the occasion.  O N Mukherjee proposed a vote of thanks while, Dr. Pawan Labhasetwar conducted the proceedings. The programme was attended by around 100 members and students.
