VNIT organises Research Scholars Day ’19

VNIT Nagpur had recently organised its  3rd “Research Scholars’Day” 2019 (RSD). The event witnessed 302 participants out of which 254 VNIT scholars showcased their research in the form  of POSTERS.

During the event eminent personalities from Industry and Academia shared their views on opportunities and capabilities of R&D in India. Oration by academic experts from India and abroad were also organised on various topics. The eminent speakers included Dr Ashok Deshpande, COEP Pune, and Dr NS Vyas, Chairman, Technology Mission for Indian Railways, Dr Prof. Lawrence Kazmerski, University of Colorado and Dr Anil K from IITB, Mumbai talked on Photovoltaics. Speakers from Industry included Sanjeev Pimpale, Ashok Leyland, along with Dr Anwar Daud, ZIM Labs, Dr Rajkumar P Singh, Sr. Director, Bharat Forge, and Dr Puneet Singh Sr. Director, QUALCOMM R&D.

About 80 industry personnel witnessed the research and facilities at VNIT. RSD-2019 was a unique event organized in collaboration and support of Atul Pande, President VIA and other members of the Joint Action Committee comprising Vidarbha Industry Association, MIDC Industries Association, Butibori Manufacturers Association, Laghu Udyog Bharati, DICCI, Kalmeshwar Industries Association and CII-Vidarbha Zonal Council.

“Unveiling of RSD-2019 Souvenir” was done by the Chief Guest, Prof. Nalinaksh S Vyas, Chairman, Technology Mission for Indian Railways, Govt. of India in the presence of Prof. P M Padole, Director, Prof. M V Aware, Coordinator, TEQIP-III, Prof. Jatin Bhatt, Associate Dean Industry Institute Interaction and Dr. T V K Gupta & Dr. S K Nayak, Coordinators, RSD-2019.

This colloquium helped in identifying the interdisciplinary research potential acquired in many of the projects which could be future centers of excellence in respective Areas. The two day event leveraged the student research outcomes that could be transferred for a new startup. RSD-2019 exposition helped to strengthen the institute’s industry linkage and has given its scholars an opportunity to align their research towards industrial needs. The event was sponsored by TEQIP-III with Industry Institute Interaction Cell of VNIT.
