Sumit Kendre all set to join as PSI

Often you see people complaining or blaming of lack of facilities or resources that prevented them from achieving success. But if you aim high and work hard with a strong resolve to achieve it, nothing is impossible. This was proved by a city lad Sumit Madhav Kendre, who cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination with flying colours. He is all set to join the police department as Police Sub-Inspector (PSI).

Speaking to TLN, Sumit, who has emerged first from Vidarbha and 31st in Maharashtra said, since childhood he had only one ambition that of joining the police department as an officer. Sumit hails from a village in Loha taluka of Nanded district is residing in Nagpur as his elder brother Maruti Kendre is posted as Police Nayak at Dhantoli police station.

Sumit completed his graduation in Arts stream from Yeshwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) in 2017. “I had cleared my preliminary in 2016. However, I was not graduate and hence could not appear for the mains. After getting my graduation degree, I appeared for the main examination and cleared it in one go,” said Sumit, whose father is a farmer and has some agricultural land in his native village.

To clear the competitive examination, Sumit did not join any of the tuition classes or institution. “I don’t feel there is a necessity to join any classes. Determination, sincerity, hard work and focus are the only things needed to achieve your goal. I would give the same advice to the young students and the aspirants preparing for competitive examinations. Believe in yourself and work hard,” said Sumit.

And he is still not contended by clearing the MPSC, his ambition is to become a DySP for that he would be preparing for the State Service examination. “First I will join the police department as a job is necessary for me and then I will start preparing for the exam to achieve my goal,” he said.

To a question, he said he enjoyed full support from his family members to clear the MPSC examination and with the result of course everybody of them is happy now.
