Sanskar, Vritika U-9 chess champs

Sanskar Gaigore and Vritika Game emerged champions in the Nagpur District Under-9 Chess Tournament that was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association at DNN indoor hall, Congress Nagar here on Sunday.

In the open section, Sanskar Gaigore and Vivaan Saraogi and Jay Sawalakhe earned six points each in the seven-round tournament. However on the basis of tie-breaker, Gaigore was declared champion whereas Saraogi finished runners-up. Sawalakhe achieved third place.

In the girls section, Vritika Game remained unbeaten to win the title with five points. She was followed b Shraddha Bajaj for second place. Aaradhya Rakhunde finished third. The prizes were distributed at the hands of NDCA Secretary  K K Barat. VCA Secretary RN Shriwas, NDCA Treasurer S N Parkhi,  organising Secretary  Umesh Panbude, Chief Arbiter Pravin Pantawane, Assistant Arbiter Shrikant Bagde were also present on the occasion.

Final standings

Boys 1. Gaigore Sanskar (6, 33.5), 2. Saraogi  Vivaan (6, 33.5), 3. Sawalakhe  Jay (6, 31.5), 4. Bhake Vallabh (5.5, 27.5), 5.Sadhwani Prince (5, 32), 6. Roy Vivaan  (5, 30.5), 7. Damke Addhyay (5, 30), 8. Tarekar Sai (5, 27.5), 9. Kumbhalkar Sparsh (5, 26.5), 10. Dhote Abhir (5, 25).

Girls: 1. Game Vritika (5, 13), 2. Bajaj Shraddha (4, 10) 3. Rakhunde Aaradhya (4, 10), 4. Chandankhede  Divyanshi  (3, 8), 5. Kamdi Nilaya (3, 7), 6. Patil Aarya (3, 7), 7. Rathod Prissha (3, 7), 8. Rakhunde Aaranya  (3, 6)
