Chandrapur: Amid row over income tax department raids at the close aides of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath, sleuths I-T department conducted searches at the under construction house of Balu Dhanorkar, Congress candidate from the Chandrapur Lok Sabha Constituency.
Dhanorkar was a Shiv Sena MLA, but he switched to Congress just before the Lok Sabha polls. He was rewarded with Lok Sabha ticket.
Congress MLA and former minister Vijay Wadettiwar alleged that the raid was conducted with political motive. He accused BJP for misusing the power to exert pressure on the Opposition.
“I-T raid was conducted at the under construction house of Congress candidate from Chandrapur Lok Sabha constituency Balu Dhanorkar on the orders of BJP government to pressurise us. I-T officials did not get anything during the raid,†he claimed while addressing the media.
