In terms of the National Institution Rating Framework (NIRF) declaration for the year 2019, Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), Sawangi Meghe, Wardha has been overall ranked 92nd in the group of Educational Institutions in the Country. This by itself is a matter of great pride for all concerned that in its maiden attempt the University has been included in the elite group of top 100 Ranking Educational Institutions in the country for the year 2019.

Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), was notified as Deemed University by the Ministry of Human Resources Development on the recommendations of University Grants Commission by a notification dated 25th May, 2005 with Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and Sharad Pawar Dental College, Sawangi Meghe, Wardha under its ambit. Within two year of its existence led by its First Vice Chancellor Dr. Vedprakash Mishra
the University sought accreditation by NAAC in the year 2007 and the University was accredited with ‘A’ Grade, which by itself was a unique record of its type.

In the year 2009 the Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing and Mahatma Gandhi Ayurved College and Research Centre, Sawangi Meghe, Wardha were brought under the ambit of the Deemed University. In the year 2012 the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, rated the University as ‘A’ Grade Deemed University by a suitable Notification. In the very year (2012) the 2nd cycle of re-accreditation, by NAAC, the Deemed
University was ranked again as ‘A’ Grade University with a score of 3.36 out of 4.

In continuation of the same spree in the year 2017 in the 3rd Cycle of Reaccreditation the University fetched a score of 3.53 out of 4 from the NAAC and resultantly has been graded as an ‘A+’ University for a period of seven years
which would be for a period up to October, 2024. It has also been granted 12 (B) Status by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

The educational institutions with reference to health sciences included in the said elite list of 100 ranked educational institutions by NIRF can be divided into sub-groups namely i) Exclusive health science Universities including Deemed Universities, ii) Universities having health sciences along with other streams of faculty.
The material group relevant to present case would be the group of Universities that are exclusively health sciences Universities including deemed Universitiesfor the purposes of comparison and analysis thereto.
