COMHAD International installs new team for 2019-21

New Team of Executive body members of COMHAD International UK for three years 2019 to 2021 has been formed recently after approval from Commonwealth Foundation UK.

COMHAD UK is an International NGO working for the welfare of general community of 54 Commonwealth Countries of the world. COMHAD was established in the United Kingdom in 1983 with the support from the Commonwealth Foundation wherein Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth is the Patron-in-Chief of Commonwealth Foundation.

The Chief Patron is Prof Md. Sirajul Islam from Dhaka Bangladesh. Dr Uday Bodhakar well known personality from pediatric field has been elected on the highest CF NGO position as the Executive Director and Deputy Chairperson of CHPA UK organization of seven CF medical organizations. Senior well known Pediatrician of orange city Dr Yashwant Patil has been elected as the International President of COMHAD for three years.

Dr Pradip Jaiswal well known pediatrician has been nominated as the Honorary Secretary General of COMHAD. Former Principal of Government Physiotherapy School Nagpur Dr Prakash Ukey has been elected as Treasurer and Dr Urmila Dahake and Dr Vijay Dhote as Joint Secretaries respectively. Other office bearers are International Vice Presidents, one each from Five zones of 54 Commonwealth countries all over the world, as Dr Adenike Grange – Africa, Dr Prakash Sanghavi – Asia, Prof Rajaram Pagadala – Canada/Caribbean, Dr Ramesh Mehta – Europe/UK, and Prof Kathryn Currow– Pacific.

COMHAD is one of the Commonwealth Professional Associations and a Pan Commonwealth Non-Government Organization (NGO) working in official relations with WHO since 1990 and is a long standing partner of WHO for collaboration. It is actively involved in promoting health development, exchange of technical expertise and inter-country training and education in health in 54 Commonwealth countries all over the world.

The AIM of this association is to provide education and research in health and disability for quality of life by raising awareness for prevention of disease and disabilities and promoting health care for low and middle income group of the community in urban setting. In the furtherance of this aim the Association will advocate and promote – 1) Quality health care, 2) Accessible , acceptable and affordable health care in particular for people with disability, 3) Professional links between workers in health and disability across the Commonwealth, 4) The aims and objectives will be achieved through regional and international conferences, workshops and symposiums, publications and communications, demonstration and other projects, training exercises and professional exchange and development programs.

Various National NGOs like IAP, NNF, BPNI, IMA and AMF & International organizations like AAP, UNICEF and CF have congratulated and extended best wishes to this newly elected team of COMHAD International for the grand success in their future endeavors in the field of childhood disability.
