‘Children theater Utsav’ showcased acting skills of children

Summer season has already begun and children have started going to various classes to explore their creative side.

To promote the talent of these little gems a Children Theater Utsav was organized on May 3 at Scientific Hall, Nagpur by FUNDOO LEARNING SYSTEMS. It is a Social Enterprise working with the mission of holistic development of children of society.

The audience comprised of parents, children, academicians, social workers, NGO representatives, theater fraternity and well wishers. Three back to back dramas were presented by the children each drama had a message in it. The audiences were mesmerized by the acting skills of the children.


A 12 days workshop was organized for these participants to make them explore all the creative aspects of theater. Body language, Voice Modulation, Team Activities, Confidence building, Communication skills, Public speaking, self analysis were some aspects covered in this workshop. The highlight of these plays was the script which was penned by participants themselves.

Fundoo Theatre organizes such workshops for rural as well as less privileged children. “Garibi ke Fayde” was a political satire in which participants presented various government schemes, how politicians and needy voters take benefits from it and how to change the system. The presentation won applauds from audience.

The second drama “Oceanpur” was about making a place tourist destination. The tricks the citizens play to make their town a vacation spot brought laughter. The performances of the youngest FUNDOO team grabbed attention of the audience in the entire play.
“We choose Freedom” was a social issue of discussion, the topic was finalized and conceptualized by children themselves. The drama made the audience particularly parents to think about their lifestyle, gadgets addiction and parenting styles.

All the dramas were directed by Ashlesh Jamre, Movie Script Writer and partner FUNDOO Theatre. Madhavi Kavishwar, Founder FUNDOO Learning Systems is Producer. Ashlesh and Madhavi discussed the motive of this initiative with us. They believe
Drama is the perfect medium for the holistic development of a child. Drama build self confidence, eradicates stage fear, make them creative, develop the ability to focus and improve communication skills.

Mohan Gandhe, R.S.Sancheti School, Jayshri Bhake, Principal G.H.Raisoni Vidyaniketan, Padmaja Marathe , Principal Saksham CBSE School, Nisha Saraf, Founder CDS School ,Desai Madam , Retd. Principal Somalwar Khamla School, Rupesh Pawar , Meraki Theatre, Shraddha Jais , Director Prodigy Playschool , Rupali Jichkar, Director IDEAL Academy , Savita Nampalliwar, Director CHOCOS , Dr. Smita Pakhmode, President JCI Medicos, Dr. Ravindra Keskar, VNIT, Dr.Viral Shah, President, Nagpur Ophthalmologists Society not only appreciated the participants efforts but enjoyed the event.

The event was conducted by Dhruv Nampalliwar and Manuja Kavishwar along with other team members who worked hard to make the event successful are Pooja Thombre and Pushpak Bhat as Asst Directors, Akshay Khobragade and Ashutosh Deshmukh handled Set Designing, Sneha Khandare and Raksha Mahajan managed Costumes, Sagar Denge and Abhilash Yadav were incharge for lights, Abhijeet Athavale and Pranay Karande were make up men and Sound was handled by Dhiraj Sharma.
