NRHA to initiate Fire Safety Training with Fire Brigade Dept

Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) had conducted a session on fire marshal training at Mumbai, recent; motivated by the same, Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) also decided to conduct similar training for its members and few responsible employees of member hotels.

Accordingly a General Body Meeting of NRHA was held at Hotel Orient Taibah. Seated on dais were NRHA Guests Rajendra Uchake – NMC Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Devendra Mahajan – General Manager (Environment) of Nagpur Smart & Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL). NRHA Office Bearers on dais were Tejinder Singh Renu – President, Prakash Trivedi – IPP, Inderjeet Singh Baweja – Vice President, Deepak Khurana – Secretary and Vinod Joshi – Treasurer.

Tejinder Singh Renu in his address to the members said that fire incident is an accident which can happen in any building and it’s highly recommended that we are trained to handle the situation including use of fire extinguisher and other fire fighting gazettes so that damage can be minimized. He also submitted gratitude to Member Rajan Mulani for suggesting this to NRHA.

CFO Rajendra Uchake said that he highly appreciates that NRHA has suo motto approached NMC Fire Department for such training, which is also now mandatory as per law. He assured NRHA that his team is always ready to train civilians; however minor expenditure incurred will have to be borne by NRHA. Uchake said, we’ll conduct such training in batches so that every participant gets an opportunity to handle fire safety equipment during training sessions.

NSSCDCL GM Devendra Mahajan suggested, that hoteliers should make best use of solar generated electricity and also restrict usage of water. He also said that water harvesting should be done in all hotels so that the hoteliers can also contribute for environment.

NRHA unanimously agreed for fire training and decided to proceed ahead which will finally benefit both, the hoteliers as well as the administration.

NRHA Members attended this GB Meeting in large numbers. NRHA Executive Body members Govind Murliar, Ajay Jaiswal, Sanjay Agrawal, Tarun Motwani, Afzal Mitha, Vasudeo Trivedi, Mahesh Trivedi, Rishi Tuli, Mohd Anis Opai, NRHA Members Nagesh Wazalwar, Vijay Sawarkar, Amit Raghtate, Sharique Hafiz, Shivam Gupta, Suddu Vaidya, Manoj Shukla, Tushar Khurana, Chandrakant Chaurasiya, Arjun Bundiwal, Rajendra Huda, Shyamshankar Mishra, Madhusudan Trivedi, Vishal Jaiswal, Manoj Awachat,  Naveen Kewalramani, Dhanraj Meshram and others were prominently present at the occasion.
