An FIR has been registered by Maha Metro, Nagpur at Sonegaon Police Station, in connection with the vandalism of one of the Pillars near Airport Metro station on Wardha Road. A FIR has been registered against unknown person in connection with the inspection of Metro Pillar number 35.
Following the complaint of Metro Pillar’s defacement, the Maha Metro has taken serious note of it and has lodged a complaint under section 3 of Section 184 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 of the Prevention of Public Property Act, 1984. Under this, a person can be arrested for insulting public property in such a manner, and penalties can also be imposed from him.
On one hand, while Nagpurians gave an overwhelming response to the passenger movement which was started by Maha Metro Nagpur, wherein, metro train trips were started for passengers from Khapri to Sitabuldi but on the other hand some miscreants are vandalizing the Nagpur Metro project in such a shameful way.
It is a Penal offense to stick poster, advertisement plaque, or to write in any manner etc on the public property. Violators can be punished under the law and penalties can also be charged. Nagpur metro has requested to not do any such vandalisation of the public property.
