The stage is set for the counting of votes of Lok Sabha polls held here on April 11 and April 18 in the Vidarbha Region in Maharashtra.
In Nagpur city the counting will take place for Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha seats where poling held in first phase on April 11.
The District Returning Officer Ashwin Mudgal has informed that due to introduction of Voter Verification Paper Audit (VVPAT) system by the Election Commission, it will take much time.
Nagpur will have 19 rounds while there will be 25 rounds in Ramtek Lok Sabaha constituency. The first round normally takes about 45 minutes and later it picks up.
About 448 personnel are being deployed for counting the votes. Results of all the rounds will be informed to the media by the officials.
There will be heavy police deployment to avoid any untoward incidents. By and large the picture will be clear by late night and final results will be known around midnight, Mudgal said.
The counting venue will as usual be the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Kalamna market.
