All the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena candidates from Vidarbha were leading in their respective constituencies as Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur surged ahead with a lead of 33,000 votes at the end of second round in against his nearest rival Nana Patole of Congress.

Both the, Union Ministers, Gadkari and Hansraj Ahir (Chandrapur) were leading from Nagpur and Chandrapur constituencies. Ahir was leading with a thin margin of 200 votes from Chandrapur. In neighbouring Wardha, Charulata Tokas of Congress was trailing behind her BJP rival, sitting MP Ramdas Tadas with over 15,000 votes. The former MPCC chief, Manikrao Thakre was also trailing behind his Shiv Sena rival sitting MP, Bhavna Gawli in Yavatmal constituency.

Anandrao Adsul of Shiv Sena is leading in Amravati with 67340 votes ahead of Nanneet Rana of Independent with NCP support securing 63109 votes. Sanjay Dhotre of BJP was leading by 6334 votes in Akola against his nearest rivals Hidayat Patel of Congress and Prakash Ambedkar of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. According to reports, Ashok Nete of BJP from Gadchiroli, Sunil Baburao Mendhe (BJP) from Bhandara-Gondia and Prakash Jadhav (SS) from Buldana are leading from their respective constituencies against their Congress-NCP rivals in the region.

In 2014 general elections, the BJP-Sena combine bagged all the 10 Lok Sabha seats from the region and it seems that they are likely to retain all the seats from Vidarbha this time.
