City girl Sejal Bhutada wins AITA Tennis tournament in Raipur

Sejal Bhutada, the sweet eleven-year-old Nagpur girl, who is sure to go a long way in her career, won the Girls U-14 Singles and Girls U-14 Doubles AITA Talent Series (TS-7) tournament played this week (10th to 14th June) at VIP Club Raipur.

In the fiercely competitive tennis tournament organised by the Chhatisgarh State Tennis Association (CSTA), Sejal showed her class as she beat Ms. Samruddhi Singh of Chhatisgarh in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, to win the U-14 Singles tournament.

In the doubles, she paired with Ms. Shruti (Ritu) Nansarkar of Pune and got the better of the more experienced pair Ms. Samruddhi Singh and Ms. Ashprit Kaur from Chhatisgarh in straight sets with score reading 7-5, 6-0.

In the Boys U-14 Singles and Doubles, city lad Kashit Nagrale was Runners-Up in both categories.

Sejal has been playing at the MSLTA Tennis Academy, Ramnagar for the last four years. Her parents shifted to Nagpur from Yavatmal only because they found better training facilities in Nagpur. Sejal trains under her coach Vishal Giri and Navin and puts in three to four hours every day.

NDHTA Hon. Secretary Dr. Sudhir Bhiwapurkar has hailed the success of Sejal Bhutada and praised her parents Gopal and Archana Bhutada for their dedication.
