All these years the focus had been on the very good performances of various teams of VCA. But behind these success, VCA has laid a great emphasis on the coaching aspects. While employing the services of Chandrakant Pandit as the Ranji Coach, all other VCA teams have home-grown coaches.
With a view to promote cricket coaching in a scientific and uniform manner, VCA established its “Coaches Academy” 6 years back. Satish Chimote, a BCCI Level-3 Coach was appointed as Head Coach. Over these years lot of coaching & training activities were undertaken here.
With active participation of BCCI & NCA coaches and trainers, the VCA Coaches Academy conducted “Train the Coaches” programs involving men and women from Nagpur city and districts. This training has now culminated in 26 coaches being declared successful for BCCI-NCA Level ‘A’ Coaching.
To felicitate these 26 candidates VCA held a function on 31.07.19 and presented them with the “Level A” NCA Certificates. Presiding over the function President Anand Jaiswal appreciated the activities of the Coaches Academy and assured that all help and facilities will be extended to make the coaching activities as on-going and will be spread at district levels also. He also hoped that many more ex-players and others would take advantage of the VCA Coaches Academy and that many more coaches would be available to VCA.
Vice President Prashant Vaidya and Ranji Coach Chandrakant Pandit also exhorted the coaches on proper coaching methods and take the same to the grass root level. He also asked the coaches to keep updating their knowledge and involve themselves in coaching the younger generation.
Present at the function were Hon.Secretary Parimal Vaidya and Head Coach Satish Chimote , Selectors and other support staff of VCA.
