A school teacher was mauled to death by a Tigress on near Kurai, adjacent of famous Pench Tiger Project in neighbouring Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh, some 100 km from here on yesterday, sources said today.
According to reports reaching here today, the body of the tribal, Manoj Dhurve (23) was found in compartment number 326 of Khawasa forest beat near the tiger sanctuary. Dhurve was the resident of Mudiareeth village and a part-time teacher by profession.
The incident occurred when the victim had gone to his farmland, which is located near the buffer zone of the Pench National Park. His half-eaten body was recovered from the jungle by the villagers and family members last night.
It was not immediately known whether the cubs or the tigress attacked the Dhurve. He owns a small farm adjacent the Pench National Park and was also worked as a part-time teacher at his village.
He went to the forest area on yesterday noon. As he did not return till late, villagers started searching for him. Villagers and the family members of Dhurve first spotted his slippers in the forest and later his body on later in the night.
