Nagpur Municipal Corporation will set up an e-library in memory of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Lal School premises in Gitanjali Chowk on Central Avenue Road in the city. This e-library created by Manado is based on the concept of British ‘e-Library’ and a fund of Rs 5 crore has been proposed. The e-library’s work will soon be grounded and it will provide greater facilities to students of the city, informed senior councilor Dayashankar Tiwari.
There will be a three-storey building of the modern e-library and parking system will be provided on the ground floor. A clock room will be set up on the same floor to ensure the safety of the students. Apart from this, the management office of the modern ‘e-library’ will also be arranged on this floor.
On the second floor, there will be two computer sets and two hours internet facility for the convenience of 4 students. Three separate cabins of four student capacity will be arranged for students’ group discussion. In addition, a separate room will be created for the PowerPoint presentation. A separate toilet for male and female students, a pantry for refreshments and a locker room for the preservation of costly items are also proposed in the modern ‘e-library’.
Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee resolved to educate everyone by incorporating education as a fundamental right during his tenure of Prime Minister. Modern ‘e-library’ is being constructed in the memory of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, senior councilor Dayashankar Tiwari informed.
The entire building of the e-library will be a ‘green building’ and a solar panel will be installed on the roof of the building. The entire building will be air-conditioned and students will be provided with modern facilities for study at a nominal fee.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in his statement, had announced a grant of Rs five crore as a special grant from the state government for this e-library. The funds will be received by the Municipal Corporation before the Assembly elections. At present, the Municipal Corporation has kept its funds in the budget. The tender and mandate process of the project has been completed and the senior municipal corporator Dayashankar Tiwari said that the project will be completed by next Ganeshotsav.
The e-library has been designed by renowned architect Prashant Satpute. The work will be completed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ravindra Bundhade, Junior Engineer Surendra Dudhe, Architectural Assistant Sunil Dumne, led by Nagpur Municipal Corporation Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar, Superintending Engineer Manoj Talwar.
