Achievers girls, Poddar boys triumph

The Achievers School girls and Podar International boys emerged winners in Inter-School (Rural) Under-14 Basketball Tournament organised by DSO at NBYS Bajaj Nagar court, here on Sunday.

In the girls final, The Achievers School pipped K John Public School 10-9 in extra time. Podar boys recorded 35-26 victory over Montfort School to win the crown. In the Under-17 girls’ section, Centre Point School Katol Road and BVM Trimurti Nagar set up a title clash.

U-14 rural girls final:  The Achievers School (Tarini Gaikwad 7, Aarya Deshpande 3) bt K John Public School (Eshika Jivtode 7, Madhura Waragade 2) 10-9 in Over-Time (2-2, 2-2, 2-0, 2-4 OT 2-1)

U-14 rural boys final:: Podar International School (Nirman Ukey 17, Elesh Wade 10) bt Montfort School (Soham Jane 14, Vivek Yadav 8) 35-26 (12-8, 6-6, 9-4, 8-8).

For Schools within NMC Limits U-17 ciiy girls semis:  Centre Point School, Katol Road (Siya Deodhar 18) bt BVM, Civil Lines (Vaishnavi Talmale 30 39-7 (10-0, 10-0, 10-2, 9-5);  BVM, Trimurti Nagar, (Dhara Phate 6, Sanjana Khandelwal 6) bt BVM, Srikrishna Nagar, (Vidita Chandak 8) 24-12 (12-2, 2-5, 7-0, 3-5)
