Just in time when C1 tiger is on the move, two more tigers are seen dispersing in search of a new way of living. It is being noticed that a male tiger from Navegaon, in Tadoba buffer zone has entered the Gothangaon tourism zone. The male tiger is aged 2.5 years and has been identified as the cub of T-13 tigress. The movement of the tiger has is being studied by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
On the other hand, a tigress from Devdon has been also guessed to be on the move and has reached the Paoni range of Umred- Karhandla. This movement has been tracked by the Chief conservator of forests (CCF) and the Pench field director Ravikiran Govekar confirmed both the tigershaveenteredthesanctuary.
According to sources both the tigers are not radio-collared and have left their residential areas in search of a mate or to capture new territory. It is being said that the tiger has covered almost an area of 100 to 125 km. The male tiger was last year seen accompanied by his mother and a femalesiblinginNavegaonbufferzone.
The current movement of the tigers which is being traced is noticed to be a third dispersal in just two years. The two recent dispersals have invited the wildlife lovers to force the forest department, making Umred- Karhandla a tiger reserve.
