MUWJ, NUWJ, Press Club thank CM, administration for allowing distribution of newspapers

THE State Government vide an order dated April 21, 2020, has allowed door-to-door delivery of newspapers across the state excluding Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune Municipal Corporation area and the containment zones. The MUWJ, NUWJ and Nagpur Press Club have thanked Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta and the State government and administration for taking this decision in the interest of the print media in the State.


In a statement here, MUWJ President Pradip Kumar Maitra, NUWJ President Shirish Borkar, NUWJ General Secretary Bramhashankar Tripathi, Nagpur Press Club Joint Secretary Rahul Pande have also thanked the leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, District Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut, Home Minister Anil Deshrnukh, former minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and all others who supported the mediapersons in taking up this matter. This decision of the State government has come as a major relief for the print media which is already in deep crisis in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic. The MUWJ, NUWJ and the Nagpur Press Club have appealed to all the newspaper hawkers, vendors and all other associated persons to take special care and safety precautions like using masks, gloves and sanitizers while doing their work and ensuring that the newspapers reach the readers smoothly.
