A male tiger (NT-1) was tranquilised and captured by the forest department near at Talodi range compartment no. 579 of Govindpur Sub area,Nagbhid on Sunday. The state chief wildlife warden (PCCF) issued orders to capture the tiger on Sunday morning. As per information, the tiger was responsible for the death of three people over the past month.
Dr Ravikant Khobragade, Veterinary Officer, RRT Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Chandrapur tranquillised the big cat.Under the supervision of R MWakde, Assistant Conservator of Forest (Tendu), Bramhapuri, H Sontakke, Forest Guard, Ajay Marathe, Amol Tajne, Shriram Aade, Satish Nagose, Nagoba Thakre, Mahesh Ahirkar, Rahul Dhanvijay and Rakesh Ahuja captured the tiger. After a medical examination, the tiger will be transported to the Gorewada Rescue Centre in Nagpur and kept in captivity for the time being.
