Amid the difficult situation like COVID-19,the people are not shy away from doing fraudulent activities as recently a young man posing as a scientist and a doctor cheated many jewellers in city.As per information,the youth is active in the city since last two years.He used to introduce himself as a scientist.He used to claim that he was building a bulletproof jacket with the help of his wife.He also used to publish fake news,when he failed to dupe people he started posing himself as a doctor.He used to jewellers and purchase costly ornaments and pay by cheque of a private bank.When the jewellers tried to deposit the cheque.They either bounced or were stopped.
When the jewellers used to call him,he told them that he was busy doing research on medicine on coronavirus.He also told some people that he was home quarantined as he had come into contact with COVID-19 positive people.The people who were duped by him told the cops that the youth was charming in nature and they easily believed his words.As per information, the accused is resident of Vani tehsil in Yavatmal district.It is also learnt that the youth was booked for rape two years back.As per the preliminary investigation,the girl who was robbed by him had registered a complaint against him with the MIDC police.The police came to know that he often lures beautiful girls in his trap and uses them in his crimes.He takes them to the jewelley shops and introduce the girl as his wife.
