CENTRE POINT SCHOOL,KATOL ROAD CONDUCTS HISTORIC INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Year after year since 1993, till date Centre Point School, Katol road has been conducting the Investiture Ceremony in its campus for its Student Council Office bearers of each academic year. However, the Investiture Ceremony for the Student Council members of 2020-2021 was a unique and historic one. After a democratic online voting and counting of votes ,the school was ready with its 30 Student Council members for 2020-2021.

The Investiture Ceremony held on Saturday 29th August , 2020 was a momentous occasion, an online event  charged with emotions, with the active participation of the parents and grandparents ,who were wholly involved in the proceedings from the comfort of their homes.

 The ceremony began at 8am sharp with a prayer invoking the blessings and expressing gratitude to the Almighty. This was followed by a warm welcome accorded by the Principal Mrs. Shilpee Ganguly to the Executive Director Mrs Mukta Chatterjee , to the newly elected members of the Student Council and to their families and to the selected staff members present for the occasion . Mrs Ganguly also threw light on what Investiture ceremony denotes and  defined the roles and responsibilities of each Captain, Vice Captain and Prefect.

This was followed by the Swearing- In of the School Captain, Ishwar Sarda and the School Vice Captain, Eshan Sarda whose sashes were draped and badges pinned by their grandfather and father respectively. The two office bearers then took the oath holding the school flag.

This was followed by the announcement of the Yellow House team members by Mrs Renu Singh Vice Principal CPSKR. The House Captain ,Diya Agrawal, whose sash was draped and badge pinned by her mother, along with Yellow House Vice Captain Devvrat Paldiwal and Prefects Khwahish Gungwani,  Janvi Manglani, Eesha Kolte,Presha Bhattad and Pratham Maheshwari, whose parents pinned the badges for them, took an oath to serve their House and their school with ‘Perseverance and Proficiency’. The House leader for the team is Mrs Snehal Khobragade.

The team of Red House office bearers were announced by Mrs Delnaaz Kapoor, Vice Principal CPSKR. The Red House Captain Shubham Sinha ,received his sash and badge from his mother  and with the Red House Vice Captain Michelle Tudu and Prefects Gaurang Agrawal, Falgun Sakhija, Prisha Jaiswal, Mahek Chokhani and Lakshya Hirani whose badges were pinned by their parents and grandparents,he took an oath to uphold the House Motto and School Motto and to work to the best of his ability. The House Leader for the Red House is Mrs Shalinee Agrawal.

 This was followed by the announcement of the Green House Office Bearers. The Green House Captain Maitreyi Muttemwar received the badge and sash at the hands of her father. The Green House Vice Captain Divyam Sumyani and the Prefects, Sudaksha Khungar, Sujal Dadwani, Vedant Agrawal, Amreen Kaur Bhatia and Agamdeep Singh Pahuja received their badges from their parents and grandparents. Together the team took an oath to uphold the House Motto, ’Idealism and Integrity’ with sincerity and to the best of their ability. The House Leader for Green House is Mrs Sonali Dey.

The Blue House Captain  Felitia Nissi received her sash and badge at the hands of her father and along with the team including Shruti Singhania, Vice Captain and Prefects Sharanya Deshmukh, Syed Shanabbas Ali Naqvi, Shubham Fulwani, Hrishita Manuja and Daksh Gupta,who had the privilege of having their badges pinned by their parents and grandparents, they unanimously took an oath to work for their House and the school with sincerity. The House Leader for the Blue House is Mrs.Sunita Ananthambal. .  Mrs Mousumi Aich is the House Coordinator for the 4 Houses

After the solemn swearing-in of the office bearers, the programme  moved forward with a rendition of the School Anthem. Mrs Mukta Chatterjee , the Executive Director, Centre Point Group of Schools and the Guest of Honour for the Ceremony , in her speech commended the parents and the grandparents whose time, effort and upbringing has brought this glory to these young office bearers of the School Council. She pointed out that ‘ It is a Historic day as never before in Centre Point School did we have an Online Investiture Ceremony and CPSKR is the first in this’. She congratulated the Student Council members and also the Principal and staff for the meticulous planning and executing  the programme.

The event ended with a rendition of the National Anthem. The programme was effectively compered by Mrs Ziya Bhuriwala.
