Chandrapur: Minister for Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation, and Guardian Minister of Chandrapur, Vijay Wadettiwar has warned about a rampant surge in the number of COVID-19 cases and mentioned in a social media statement that total positive cases are likely to cross 20,000 in the district by the month-end.
The Minister in a statement announced a series of measures to strengthen the health facility in the district and also directed the health authorities to take all possible action needed.
Minister also informed that the process of building a 100 bed COVID hospital for women in Chandrapur city is already underway. He added that a 100 bed COVID facility, including a 50 bed ICU and 50 oxygen equipped bed will be installed at Bhadravati, Warora, Rajura, Brahmapuri, and Ballarpur towns in the next 10 days.
Apart from this, a 1000 bed temporary COVID hospital will also be built for the patients to ensure enough beds for COVID cases at Chandrapur. He further claimed that they are in the process to hire the agency that could provide a necessary 20 physicians and other paramedics to deal with the situation.
Two oxygen generation plants are being raised in Chandrapur to ensure that none of the COVID patients faces a shortage of oxygen and five small scale plants will be built at different tehsil headquarters, he added.
