SVK Shikshan Sanstha Nagpur an NGO working to empower Intellectually Challenged Adults recently conducted Eco-friendly Green Diya making workshop for its beneficiaries.
The participants were trained by Dr.Shreya Rao to knead a specially made diya making powder using Cowdung and some herbs and make diyas using a mould.
SVKites,the able beneficiaries of SVK Shikshan Sanstha showed a lot of enthusiasm to learn the craft and started promoting a pollution free Diwali by selling these hand made, beautiful Green Diyas.
Not only are these lamps environment friendly, but also burn away along with the wick, leaving zero toxic residues. An add on factor to the eco-friendly credentials of the diyas.
It is very overwhelming to see the response through personal and corporate orders for these Diyas, as more and more Nagpurians are turning environment protectors.
SVKites have so far made more than one thousand Diyas and are very happy as they are not only promoting the pollution free Diwali but are becoming Aatma Nirbhar also by their earnings from these Diyas.
