District Collector: Rural Schools to Reopen from Nov 26

The district collector Ravindra Thakare on Sunday announced that the rural schools in district will begin from November 26.This decision was followed by the displeasure expressed by the teaching and non-teaching staff regarding the opening of the schools, and district administration has given some more time to school staff to raise their demands. The point to be noted here is that the Covid cases in the district are increasing, and experts fear that the much anticipated second wave of Covid has hit the district.

Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has deferred the reopening of schools in the city till December 13.During the meeting on Sunday; the district administration has decided the schools should be started proper safety measures. The schools have to arrange for pulse oxymeters, sanitisers and sodium hypochloride solution in the given time. Similarly, safety guidelines have been issued for the schools. Also warned the strict action against the principals of the schools that won’t be following the safety guidelines. However, the parents are still not ready to send their children to the schools. There are over 1.5 lakh students in the rural parts of the district. But parents of only 33,000 students have given consent letters.
