It’s no secret that the coronavirus pandemic has affected each and every sector and business in a very drastic manner. People from all sectors have been affected by it directly or indirectly in a very negative way. Yet it is the event management companies and the hospitality sector that has suffered the most during this pandemic as all of this comes under luxury expenses.
Speaking to a few of the wedding card makers of the city they said that the pandemic had a very severe and major blow to our businesses.
Ajay of Sharda Cards said, “Even before the pandemic hit us we fighting with the whole e-card system. Now, with the coronavirus, we are fighting another battle. For over five months we had to close our shops and even after the lockdown was removed since Government didn’t allow any public functions our misery continued. The small work of 25-30 cards won’t solve our problem. We will not be able to manage our expenses with such small business”.
Jitendra Jain of Gadekar Cards said, “We are slightly getting a few orders for cards but it is not and will never be like earlier times. The card requirements of the wedding have gone down substantially, our payments have reduced”. He said that the future for us and business-like these looks very uncertain.
People won’t be attending public functions much, weddings will happen but because of the pandemic economy has taken a severe blow and people will cut down as much unnecessary expenses as they can so our business will be affected.
He said, “For us to continue our operations we need finances and with the economy suffering people won’t be able to spend that much and it will be very hard for us to maintain our operations”.
