Govt approves for Caste Certificate centre at Chandrapur

Chandrapur: The State Government has approved a caste verification centre for scheduled tribes (STs) in Chandrapur district. An order to this effect was recently issued by government’. The decision  has come after Independent MLA from Chandrapur, Jorgewar had taken up the demand with the Government. He was in constant touch with Tribal Affairs Minister K C Padvi,  Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde and was corresponding with senior officers of the department on the issue.

Jorgewar said that Chandrapur district was home to a large number of scheduled tribes. However, for the want of a caste verification centre in Chandrapur, they had to travel to Gadchiroli for their work. Thus people had to face a lot of hassles of travelling and expenses to go to Gadchiroli and get their caste certificate.

It may be noted that the State Government had earlier passed an order in 2019 to start a caste verification centre for SCs in Chandrapur. However, the order was never implemented.

MLA Joregewar took up the issue in light of the difficulties faced by people had talked to tribal minister K C Padvi on the issue and the Government has issued a GR to start a caste verification center for Scheduled Tribes at Chandrapur.

People of SC category have a welcome the decision and thanked MLA Jorgewar for his efforts.
