Taking stern action against the use of Nylon Manjha on the eve of Sankranti, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has banned sale of plastic kites and nylon maja in the city. NMC in its drive collected a fine of Rs 3,000 through three operations carried out in two zones on Monday and seized 156 plastic kites.
Despite continuous awareness about the ban on the use of plastic kites and nylon manja, some traders are still selling them in the market illegally.
As per the order of the Municipal Commissioner, action has been initiated against such traders. One action was taken under Lakdaganj zone and two under Ashinagar zone on Tuesday. Through this a fine of three thousand was recovered. 156 plastic kites were also seized.
