The civic administration has extended the deadline for the first phase of Abhay Yojana on pending water bills till January 31. The deadline was to end on January 21 and till date civic body accruals stands at Rs 12 crore. To ensure that citizens get another chance, NMC decided to extend the deadline.
Under the Water Supply Department’s ‘Abhay Yojana’, if the overdue water bills are paid citizens would get 100 per cent penalty waiver. From February 1 to 22, 70 per cent penalty will be waived. Therefore, more and more citizens should pay their water bills and reduce their names from the list of arrears, appealed Vijay Zalke, Chairperson, and Water Works Committee.
