Rushabh Rathod, Anshuman Rath power MSSC to 4-wicket win in VCA Guzder League Cricket

Riding on a splendid hundred by Rushabh Rathod, Ministerial Services Sports Club (MSSC) thumped Medical Representative Cricket Club (MRCC) by 4 wickets in the VCA Guzder League ‘A’ Division one-day cricket tournament at the VCA Jamtha ground here on Monday.

Chasing a challenging target of 285, MSSC crossed the finishing line in the penultimate over after some tense moments.

Rushabh Rathod hammered 126 off 123 balls which included 12 fours and three sixes. Rathod and last-match hero Anshuman Rath (89: 98b, 9×4, 1×6) were involved in a big partnership which helped their side reach the target with seven balls and four wickets to spare.

Earlier, put in to bat, MRCC posted a strong total of 284 for 6 in their stipulated 50 overs. Mohit Raut smashed an unbeaten century to boost the total. Raut, who made his T20 debut for Vidarbha in the recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Indore, displayed a powerful batting performance as he struck 7 boundaries and six sixes to complete the hundred in just 78 balls. However, his knock went in vain as Rushabh Rathod and Rath chased down the target with a sensible batting show.

In the other three matches too, the team batting first lost as chasing the target did the trick for Eleven Star Club, Advocate XI Cricket Club and All India Reporters over their respective opponents.
