Hansraj Club pip Gouhar 4-3, Nagpur Star hold Veer FC 1-1 in NDFA Senior Division Football League

Hansraj Football Club squeezed past Gouhar FC 4-3 while Nagpur Star held Veer FC to a 1-1 draw in the JSW Senior Division Football League, organized by the Nagpur District Football Association, at the Suyog Nagar ground here on Friday.

Aman scored a brilliant brace in the first half to help Hansraj clinch a narrow victory. The hard-working forward found the target in the fifth and 27th minutes to provide his team a flying start.

Arvin (14th minute) and Noel Hillary (26th minute) chipped in with a goal each as Hansraj Club led by 4-0 at the half-time.

However, after the change of ends, Gouhar FC fought back gallantly and pumped in three goals to reduce the margin. Azam Khan (45th), Shivam Pathak (65th and 70th minutes) put their team back in contention but could not prevent the defeat.

In the second outing of the day, Veer FC and Nagpur Star played out a 1-1 draw.

After a goalless first session, Prasanna Kharat put Veer FC ahead in the 70th minute. However, their joy was short-lived as only eight minutes later Nagpur Star levelled the scores through Babu Francis.

Saturday’s matches

Young Boys FC vs Ansari FC at 1.30 pm.

Al Fateh vs Green Flag FC at 2.30 pm.
