With participation of Corporators, it will be easy to control rising COVID cases of city: Mayor

The incidence of corona is increasing again in Nagpur. The number of patients is increasing rapidly every day. Therefore, in addition to increasing contact tracing, some issues need to be implemented immediately. With the participation of all the corporators in all these activities, it will be easier to control the situation through coordination between the administration and the office bearers, said Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari.

To review the situation regarding Corona, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari visited the Corona control room on Saturday and got information from the officials about the measures and planning. Deputy Mayor Manisha Dhavade, Additional Commissioner Sanjay Nipane were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari said that the rapid increase in the number of COVID patients in the last few days is a matter of concern for the city and the health of the citizens. Under the ‘Mission Begin Again’, which began after the lockdown was relaxed, citizens were allowed to start their daily business following the rules. However, the government, despite repeated requests and warnings from time to time, failed to comply with the guidelines.

It was observed that masks were not being used in many public places in the city. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of patients in the last few days. Although the corporation administration is taking punitive action against such persons, penalty is not the solution. Everyone must recognize their responsibility and follow the rules. Now it is necessary to aggressively do ‘contact tracing’ of corona patients without any help. Involve the Corporators in the entire process, the mayor suggested.

Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari said the administration needs to take drastic steps now as the number of patients has been increasing day by day in the last few days.
